Sometimes there are no words.
Every action not enough.
No solutions to be found.
And wisdom is too trite.
When your tears are dried up
And the soul feels weary.
Suspended in a pause.
Paralyzed in a question.
Caught in a cycle.
Sometimes there are times
When it feels like too much.
“Where is God?” you say.
There is pause and it is quiet
and you question it all.
And these are the times
Where you step out and surrender.
Light a candle and wait for Grace to take over.
Quiet and silent and humble She enters.
A pause,
a breath,
a moment of peace.
Some relief in despair.
Some comfort in grief.
Present and steady Her hand may take yours
Just to remind you are never alone.
Burning the fire
That candle
That flame
Lighting up a dark night
Until the sun rises again.
